I have now given a fair snapshot of the history of the Democrat Party.  Now let us look at the Republican party it is only fair, while the Democrat party did try to be for the people and has been better at sounding as if they still are the Republican party has always had a PR problem.  It has been deemed the Party of the rich and big business and not for the little guy party.  The problem with that is that most people that see it that way have a bad opinion of business and fail to look at the facts.  Fact when the Party started most businesses were small, and they were owned by people, individuals that took pride in what they did, the farmer worked hard to grow the best crops that would sell to many and he sold it to the merchant who took care to keep it looking as good as possible and made sure the customer got more than just enough and of the highest quality he could give them.
to put it simply as possible every one tried to have integrity, people held themselves to high standards.  As new methods came in to being it made somethings easier and thus more could be made and the product price went down, thus people could get more but quality still was kept at high standards.  Now it use to be that those who provided substandard items changed their product and brought the quality up or went out of business.  Like everything easier and cheaper have two sides, it can mean people can get more for less and have a better standard of living and the other side is as the sayin goes you get what you pay for this is true buy cheap stuff you could get cheap stuff not quality or low standard.  that is where we are nowsome where along the way people and thus business as lowered the standards of the product and serviice and this all came to be as people became less interconnected and standards and integritywere minimalizes as important standards were lowered pride in workmenship lost.  The Republican party has been the bearer of the misfortune of being labelled cold hearted. Sorry I got off on a tangent but will get back to the history of the Republican party with my next post.but as always I hope this gets you thinking on ways to improve the conservative movement and help to turn this country around back to high standards and pride and integrity of the past, the standards this country was founded on.

The Democrat Party did start out more for the people and strictly to the Constitution, and at this time they began to build their network for getting their message out, that was a network of newspapers (today they have added TVand Movies), but over time the Party began to stry from those roots and began standing with the rich and racist opressive policies.  what I see as one of their first racist acts come into play around 1846 with the expulsion of eastern American Indians.  Both major parties at the time were divided on the issue of slavery, another part of their network they began to be affiliated with was the labor unions.  Back to this later.
I will also come bak to slavery in 1848 the DNC was created and as is often the case even today the party is divivded the northern democrats were antislavery and the southern proslavery.  By 1854 the main Democratic leader in the Senate Stephen A Douglas pushed through  the pro-slavery Kansas-Nebbraska Act.  Many of the northern Democrats joined the newly formed Republican party that were anti slavery. The Republicans argued theat slaveholders had seized hold of the federal government and were blocking progress of liberty. 
As I read and learned more it looks like the party began attracting the lower classes but here is were things as I see it began to change for the party.  President Wilson ordered the segregation of the federal Civil Service, which tells me that desegrgation started in the early 1900's.  It was not until the 1924 Democratic National Convention that the party tried to denounce the KKK, although it was not directly tied to the party now it still ran with the party even today I think as evidenced by Senator Robert Byrd who fomrmed his own chapter of the KKK.  step forward to FDR who really altered the party away from capitalism toward economic regulation  and insurance against hardship or more plainly put government control and government hand outs that hold you down welfare.  He really began to grow the government with nationalized welfare, Social securty, and grreater regulation on business and transportation and communications. 
All this regulation and taxation did was make businesses have to raise their prices to follow the regulations and pay the taxes.  Now up to this point Blacks or the politically correct phrase African- Americans, voted with the Anti-slavery party the Republican party, but due to conditions of the time and the slow change in some areas that was holding blacks back but was changing, they saw what they Democrats were calling help as but was it really help? In the word of Southern Democrat Russell  "We will resist to the bitter end any measure or any movement which would have a tendency to bring about social equality and intermingling and amalgamation of the races in our (Southern) states." this he said against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
I do not wish to overload you with information so this is it for now escept to note take caution on where you get your history as the history I got from the Democratic Party website was truly a washed  rosy devoid of any facts history.

One way that we conservatives in the Republican Party need to do is to first educate ourselves on the true standards of the Party.  Learn about both parties democrat too, get the facts straight in our heads and be able to inform others with evidence to back up what we teach.  We need to start now to educate all people who we may be able to show the error of their ways.  People are to often creatures of habit.  We all tend to do somethings simply because our parents did it that way, this is true even with voting,  I have heard people say I vote democrat because my folks did.
I myself can't say that as I never knew which way my father voted, for one thing he past away in the fall of my seventeenth year and growing up politics was not a subject of interest to me. we need to break the myths of the Democrat party and their way of governing.  For this is what we fight long held beliefs like the democrats are the party for the little guy, yet the history of the party shows otherwise.  To show its history of being for slavery, big government, high taxes on the working class, how you may ask well many of the "rich" are business owners, and as such the higher tax rates they get hit with are passed on to you and me the working class and the poor in higher prices for the goods and services that we purchase from the "rich".
I have not given you facts in this posting to back up my talking points that I have put forth here and I have not touched on everything either.  I plan on doing so with each new post, now I know that we just finished a long election race but what my plan is goes like this start working on people now on how they think about who is better for them in government who really stands for the people of all races then when elections come around thing should go more conservative, and we need to keep on our government officials as to how we want them to vote on issues of importance. let us get the party back on track with small government, low taxes, less regulation etc. candidates.

As we bring this year to a close we must look a head to see where things will go.  I for one a middle class conservative stuggling to do the right thing and pay off the debts that we as a family have gotten into am concerned, with all of the things that have come out of President elect Obama's mouth through out this exhaustive campain, as well as the mess the economy has fallin into, what part of history will we relive?  What ever it will be I say we must be the squeaky wheel in the Democrat machine that needed to be oilled.  We need to let our elected officials know what we want from them until we become so anoying that they may just do what we want just to shut us up. 
If we ant better educaiton for our children not politically correct education bug them until we get what we want.  Let us win this war we find ourselves in finish in Iraq and move on to Afganistan and win there too. taxes keep them low not tax credits but simple low taxes. Let's talk economy govenrment needs to keep it's hands off if it is failing chapter 11 and fix the problems not reward the business for failling.  we need to get it into peoples heads that there are consequences for ones actions you screw up you either try to fix it before it gets to bad or you fail.  If you fail learn from it and move on the government CAN NOT fix it for you.  Heaven and any one who really thinks about it will know that the government has not fixed anything it said it would.  I have been voting for 30 years now and just about every year if not every year the government (and I include unions as a part of the goernment) have asked us to give more money to fix the education system and to this day nothing has really been fixed, new progams have been added twisted history and "science" have been put out as acurate but fixed not yet and I am not going to hold my breath.  Government can't fix it we must, the less government the better.
